Family-Owned Mexican Taco Shop opens doors in Monroe February 18, 2021 - Monroe, Ohio 2/18/2021, Monroe, Ohio - A new traditional Mexican Restaurant known for its tacos, burritos and traditional Mexican cuisine opens its doors in Monroe.
Victor’s Taco Shop, located at 2 East Ave, offers a variety of Mexican entrees from carne asada fries to taco bowls, and everything in between.
This family-owned taco shop opened its doors on February 8th to Monroe customers, which marks their eighth restaurant in the Victor’s Taco Shop chain. You may have heard of them already if you’re familiar with their Delaware, Marion, Fairborn, Dayton, Huber Heights, Xenia, or Springfield locations. As the company edges towards Cincinnati, Victor thought Monroe would be a good catalyst between Dayton and Cincinnati. Another location is also under construction in Kettering, Ohio.
Victor Gaytan, the owner of the Victor’s Taco Shop chain, said “having a family business is important to me because it’s something we can build now and pass down to our kids someday.” The family business is run by Victor, his brother Luis, Victor’s son Jonathan, and his nephews.
“We immigrated from Mexico many years ago and I decided to break the family curse and build our own legacy. I wanted to start something to show my people that anything is possible, no matter where you’re from. As long as you work hard, take care of those around you, and don’t give up!” Victor said in an interview with MainStreetMonroe.com.
Victor also opened up a tortilla factory called Tortilleria Rivera, which supplies all of the fresh-made flour tortillas for tacos, bowls, burritos, and more.
What are your top 3 menu items? “It’s a hard decision, but our top sellers are our Carne Asada Burrito, Big OH Burrito, and any of our tacos! My personal favorite is the Arizona Burrito!” - Victor
Carne Asada Burrito - Steak, Pico de Gallo, fresh guacamole, wrapped in a fresh-made flour tortilla.
Big OH Burrito - Grilled chicken, rice, lettuce, Pico de Gallo, sour cream, and Mexican blend cheeses, wrapped in two flour tortillas, smothered in house-made enchilada salsa and cheese sauce, sprinkled with Mexican cheese.
Arizona Burrito - Steak, potatoes, grilled Pico de Gallo, and Mexican blend cheeses.
